School Administrator needed
We are seeking a professional, organised, and friendly School Administrator to join our team. As the first point of contact for pupils, parents, staff, and visitors, the successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining a welcoming, efficient, and well-organised school office environment.
We are located over 2 school sites in Clare & Sible Hedingham. You must therefore have a driving licence and access to a vehicle 5 days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet pupils, parents, staff, and visitors in a warm, professional, and safeguarding-aware manner
- Answer and direct telephone calls and email enquiries promptly and efficiently
- Maintain accurate pupil records using the school’s management information system
- Assist the SENDCo with pupil annual reviews and referrals from county
- Perform general administrative duties including filing, photocopying, scanning, and data entry
- Manage attendance records and pupil registration processes
- Schedule appointments, meetings, and manage staff calendars
- Handle incoming and outgoing post and deliveries
- Maintain office supplies and place orders as required
- Support the Senior Leadership Team and teaching staff with administrative tasks
- Ensure school areas are tidy, organised, and compliant with safeguarding procedures
- Driving licence and vehicle; we are located on 2 sites
- Previous experience in an administrative role (school experience desirable)
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and/or school management systems (e.g., SIMS, Arbor is desirable)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional telephone manner
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload in a busy school environment
- High level of accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding responsibilities within a school setting
- Friendly, approachable, and calm under pressure
