Our Philosophy

The Yellow House is a small, highly specialist, independent day school on the Essex/Suffolk borders.  We take pupils from Year 9 to Year 12 with multiple and complex needs and including Anxiety Disorder, Autism, ADHD, ODD, OCD and Tourette’s Syndrome.

At The Yellow House School, we deliver a bespoke education for every pupil, developing and expanding their unique talents and helping to bring about positive change.

We offer a specialist education with a strong focus on personal development, attaining GCSE or other qualifications and progressing forward to further education. This academic focus is balanced with our consistent specialist pastoral support.

Our comprehensive therapeutic provision aims to support our pupils through all areas of their needs.  We offer a range of interventions designed to assist with anger, anxiety, low mood and think good, feel good - a basic Cognitive Behaviour Therapy based course.

Pupils are supported, physically, emotionally and academically in order for them to reach their true potential.

Our Vision and Values

We aim to create a nurturing and supportive environment that allows each pupil to  develop a positive sense of self through their work, sense of wellbeing and positive mental health .  To learn more about our vision and values, please click on the document link below.
