Forest School June 2026

A few days after the next village was mentioned on national radio as getting the nation heat record in June of 37.1 degrees, we go out for Forest School. Noticing the relief that a mere 26 degrees brings leads us to explore the shade of the woods where it even felt a little chilly. Trees offer dappled green light, a reassuring 'nature' smell and a chance to hang hammocks.

The current favourite game is hide and seek. This is also known by the Forest School teacher as 'stealth time alone in nature'. Games teach us how to agree on the rules, how to interact socially, how to win or lose with grace. But most importantly - it's fun playing in the woods!
